On its page, the Facebook group « Chamonix et sa vallée, passion patrimoine » evokes the history of Le Lavancher, inspired by various heritage guides. The article indicates that houses were already present around the year 1730.

Restored in 1981, the bread oven is a testament to the life of the village and its rich past since 1819, when it was built. It is around this building that each year the association « Les Amis du Lavancher » organises the hamlet’s fête.

This year, the “Fête du pain et du four banal” will take place on 26th June 2022, after two years without due to the health crisis. This gathering is part of the activities organised at different times of the year by the Les Amis association, along with the Christmas festivities and the Fête des Guides.

The village also has two hotels and prestigious restaurants : the Chalets de Philippe and Jeu de Paume. The village is ideal for e-biking and numerous trails are accessible for those who enjoy hiking. Some offer direct access to Chamonix, others, like "Chapeau", offer a breathtaking view of the Mer de Glace and the Le Tour glacier.
